Important news about Staples Recycle for Ed program

Start recycling in store today!

Soon, we'll be rolling Staples Recycle for Education into our overall in-store ink and toner recycling program. This will allow a broader range of organizations to recycle while they earn $3 in Staples Rewards® for each HP, Lexmark or Dell® cartridge recycled. You can still drop off cartridges from other brands and we will recycle them in an environment-friendly way but please remember only HP, Lexmark, and Dell qualify for Rewards.

Starting May 15, 2008, we are no longer accepting ink and toner cartridges via mail. You must now bring them into a Staples® store for recycling. Be sure you postmark any remaining cartridges by May 15 to receive credit.

Easy in-store recycling.

Simply bring your empty HP, Lexmark or Dell cartridge into any store and get $3 in Staples Rewards® or Staples Teacher Rewards®. Once you've earned $10 in rewards or it's the end of the calendar year, you'll be sent your rewards to spend at Staples. Not a member of Staples Rewards? Sign up today.

Three main changes to the program.

  1. We accept ALL HP, Lexmark and Dell ink and toner cartridges.
  2. There's a limit of three recycled cartridges per day.
  3. You now get paid in Staples Rewards or Staples Teacher Rewards, which you can spend at Staples stores or with staples.com® and phone orders.

A new recycling program that really rings true.

We'd like to introduce another eco-friendly fundraising opportunity for your school: Good Call for Education (run by Staples' partner Collective Good). It's a free mobile phone recycling program that generates money for schools. Find out more at collectivegood.com/schools.

At Staples, we're committed to protecting the environment, and we'll keep searching for new ways to make it easy for our customers to recycle.
